TAHA Collective
A Diverse and Inclusive Muslim Community in Boston
About us
Vision
To be an inclusive and diverse Muslim third-space by holistically providing spiritual support to the Greater Boston Muslim community.
About us
Mission
We are a diverse and inclusive community seeking spiritual, intellectual, and social growth towards Allah (swt) through the teachings of the Quran and the Prophet Muhammad (saws) as transmitted through his family, the Ahlul Bayt (as). Taha Collective is a non-profit organization established to serve the Muslim-American and spiritually-curious community of the Boston metropolitan area.
It was an early fall evening in 2015 when a group of local Muslims gathered at a local Cambridge restaurant to break bread. Those in attendance that evening noted that gatherings like these were a rarity and expressed that they wanted a community, an inclusive place that could cater to the spiritual, social, and educational needs of members. Building upon the foundation of existing mosques, imambargahs, hussaniyahs, and other groups we decided to supplement the existing Boston Muslim ecosystem with the idea of a third- space that we called the Taha Collective.
The name of the organization is symbolic: the Taha Collective’s name stems from Taha, one of the names of our Holy Prophet Muhammad (swaw). It was chosen as we wish to learn and embody the message of our beloved Prophet (swaw) and his purified descendants, the Ahlul Bayt (as). The second part of our name, the title ‘Collective,’ directly represents our community of believers who constantly learn from each other and take action together.
From our foundation until now, we have consistently grown from offering only a handful of events throughout the year to now providing consistent and diverse programming year round. Our members come from all walks of life and different diverse faith traditions, and we are all united in our desire to improve our relationship with Allah (swt) through the Qur`an and Ahlul Bayt (a). Our doors are open to all and we welcome you to be a part of our story.
“ And this community of yours is one ”
(Quran, 23:52)
